Today Is the Very First Day

Article Pic

MARI SELBY: "This is the beginning of a new day. I have been given this day to use as I WILL. I can waste it...or use it for good, but what I do today is important, because I am exchanging a day of my life for it! When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever, leaving in its place something that I have traded for it. I want it to be gain, and not loss; good and not evil." Anonymous.

Today is the very first day of your creating your next steps in your life. What do you want to do with your day? Will you embrace your soul's purpose, love yourself a little more, say no, and mean no, say thank you to a stranger? Everyday you can make small steps to change the world, one day, one action at a time.Together We Can Change the World Song

The power to decide our future is inside us. We can tune into the higher frequency of Love, open channels for this power to flow to the surface of our consciousness and take control over our destiny. When we access the frequency of love we are contributors to every micron of change in the world, and every contribution is valuable. When we have a hard time identifying what our contribution is, our self worth suffers, and we feel cut off from knowing the power of love. When we can't identify the value we bring to the world we cannot build upon it and increase our contribution to the world. When we take the time to decide what we wish to contribute then we can formulate a plan to deliver it by quality and quantity. The universe rewards valued contribution, and when we put that plan into effect we see the rewards for our efforts. Now is the moment to invoke love in your life. When we invoke love in each moment of our lives we create ripples of change around us.

And each day is chance to change the world. Like the butterfly who flaps her wings in the Amazon jungle contributes to global air currents, every one of our actions makes a difference. Like a stone thrown into a pond each small change ripples out and touches another, creating more ripples and greater change. A small step towards invoking love is to daily express gratitude for friends, blessings and lessons that come our way. Meister Eckhart: "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is 'thank you', it will be enough." When was the last time you expressed gratitude for all your life's lessons, and blessings?

I am grateful for the opportunity to write this column. I am grateful for friends known and unknown. Each one of you is a blessing that changes my life. The smiles you share with me as we walk through the grocery store. The wave to go on ahead when I am waiting to turn improves my day. The laughs you share with me on the phone or sharing tea. The thoughts of concern when I am hurt all mean a great deal to me. When I see that I can make a difference even in small ways, I am encouraged to risk making a difference in greater ways. I know that not just my future depends on my choices.

May we all be "the best we can be" and serve humanity, through everything we have to offer. This week's exercise is to decide how your loving energy creates change. Rather than thinking about what you have done wrong or how you can do more, accept that you are a loving being. And as a loving being it is your nature to express that love.

Describe in writing all the ways you act lovingly towards friends, co-workers, plants and 4-legged creatures in your life. After you determine your loving ways, praise yourself for what you do. Each time you pat yourself on the back for being loving your self-worth increases along with the rewards you reap. As you dare to be more loving, the greater the loving vibration becomes around you, the more you change your life, and those around you.
