MARI SELBY:
It's tricky to know whether or not we are headed in the right direction because we don't always 'know' what's right for us.
With each succeeding part of my 'Headed in the Right Direction' series we've learned more about how to create our journey. In the Part I we became quiet and listened to our inner guidance. In the Part II we realized we always have help on our journey and now we are ready to act on these parts.
The universe is constantly giving us feedback. Each exchange is unique, offering us different viewpoints and information we can learn from. Our challenge is always to pay attention to that information and act upon it so the first step in taking action is becoming aware of the feedback we are receiving. When we learn to separate the gold from the ore we can polish the gold by working with affirmations.
We don't have a mechanical GPS inside our brains telling us to turn right in 100 yards or, that we have passed our destination however we have all our senses to guide us like an internal gyroscope that goes off balance when we are off course. It happens in nature all the time. A Shamrock plant may survive for years with nothing but indirect light, but when it's placed in a sunny window, it month doubles in size. Following that feedback is a step in the right direction!
Feedback may come as a smile from a co-worker, a request for your opinion, a warning from your boss, a speeding ticket, or being splashed by a passing car. Perhaps we are receiving guidance when we feel bruised by someone, or when our heart soars with praise we feel able to accept, or when we shrink when interacting with someone else. When we hold up our fears like a shield, we block this guidance. Our fears then create expectations of how life is supposed to be.
Do you accept the feedback you receive, or judge yourself and life? Is your glass half-full, half-empty or completely full? I suggest you mirror the Dalai Lama: 'I am open to the guidance of synchronicity, and do not let expectations hinder my path.'
I am constantly looking for feedback, in my business and personal life. As a publicist, I collate a large amount of input about my client from the media, from book reviewers, and from social media. That feedback always helps set my course. I often listen for messages in nature that guide my day. Recently there was a flock of crows that kept calling to me whenever I walked out of the house. They were relentless until I finally said, "I hear you!" which prompted a blog for BraveHeart Women
called 'Crows Calling all Courageous Women'.
Albert Einstein said. "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." Which do you choose?
I firmly believe there is power in words. How I write, speak, and think creates the feedback I receive as I steer the course of my life and I work with affirmations as my GPS. Using affirmations is a concrete way to take action on the guidance I receive. When I work with an affirmation that leads me in the right direction, the feedback I receive is in the form of miracles Einstein referred to. It's only when I truly exercise a particular affirmation that I know if it will move me as they only work when they are in alignment with my soul's guidance.
This video offers many beautiful affirmations that may inspire you:
This week's exercise is based on the principles in the video above. Start creating your life one day at a time and change one step at a time. Support change through listening to the feedback around you, or through practicing affirmations, and visualizations. Colour and shape your life by being open to life's goodness.
Say this affirmation 10 times, twice a day and see how differently you feel. 'All of life comes to me with ease, joy and glory.' We can further exercise this change by living openly without expectation. Living with a sense of wonder, 'I am open to receive thousands more blessings and gifts than I could ever imagine.'
Who knows what may happen if we let synchronicity guide our path?
