MARY McGILLIS:
"It is not the mind which makes man, nor is it the body; it is the mind and body. Our virtues and our failings are inseparable, like force and matter. When they separate, man is no more." Dr. Nikola Tesla, quoted from a magazine article entitled 'The Problem of Increasing Human Energy' published in Century Magazine in 1900.

Dr. Tesla, the visionary who harnessed the energy of Niagara Falls, talks to us a hundred years later about the condition of humanity. If you haven't seen PBS' documentary 'Tesla: Master of Lightning'
, find it at your local library and watch film footage of Tesla lighting up the city of Chicago with electricity during the World Fair in 1899.
Over one hundred years ago, Dr. Tesla understood and was openly teaching about the mind ~ body connection, and had he lived today, he surely would be someone to listen to about Spirit. We all know of visionaries on the planet right now, people who live with Spirit. One of my favourites is Vision Seeker Bearcloud from Sedona: "When people of the Earth understand the importance of spirit, the material and the physical world we live in, the intellect and sacred mind all work together as one, from the place of the heart, they will know a universe with no limits." He shares his Native American journey, including his visionary thinking, in his incredible new book '7 Fires'
.
These two men understood the concept of balance. Scientifically, Tesla might teach a child about why things move: an object can have more than one force pushing and pulling on it at the same time. When the pushing force is the same as the pulling force, the forces are balanced. When one force is stronger than another, the forces are unbalanced. What do you think happens when forces are unbalanced?
Yes, they move. And movement is key in this life, isn't it? Keep moving forward, as Walt Disney would say. Those fleeting moments of balance help us to garner strength for when the two by four smacks us. When you get hit, just stop and observe and choose to see the positive or consciously move toward the positive.
My own journey has brought me to be aware of maintaining a balance within myself and I consider the next step is to find balance with the other side, Spirit. As Adam DreamHealer
Adam DreamHealer states: "To perceive beyond ourselves is to truly see." Hear the whistle of the cardinal, listen to the craw of the crow and the rustling of the leaves in the wind. Keep moving forward. I will go forward two steps and go backward a few from time to time, but I will remain aware of my senses, my imagination and my intuition. I constantly inspire myself by sharing, remembering and performing acts of kindness. Love-ol-ution is the Sol-ution to finding balance within and balance with the other side. Reconnect to the incredibly powerful Mother Earth and world of Spirit and flow on your magical journey, too, friend.
