This turbulence is extremely contagious. Low-level energies create what I refer to as a 'negative vortex of doom' which does it's best to suck the positive out of life, so even when we don't buy into that fear, we can certainly feel the energies swirling and whirling about our personal space.
When individuals become fatigued from constantly swimming in this cesspool, it is reasonable to ask for help, however most wait until they are in a state of extreme upheaval then run screaming to the first available source for answers to life's biggest challenges.
Enter the Unhealed Healers
Energy healing can be the most freeing experience there is. I can say without doubt that sessions with a Cranial Sacral Therapist were a key component in my own healing, so I'm fully aware that there are many highly skilled and experienced individuals in the Spiritual/Self Help/Energetic Healing fields. I'm also privileged to be working with Practitioners, Seers and Psychics of the highest integrity, but I must say I'm wary of just how many people proclaim themselves 'Coach', 'Mentor' or 'Spiritual Advisor' these days.
The ones I refer to as 'unhealed healers' are those who in my opinion have only skimmed the surface of their personal healing and are then on a mission to spread their truth. They have gotten excited by the opening of consciousness in their own lives, taken a weekend course, then hung out a shingle feeling fully qualified to 'help' others, or even worse they are seduced by the possibility of standing in the same spotlight they shine on those teachers they follow.
An accredited Feng Shui practitioner, I've been witness to the damage these self-appointed gurus, with just enough knowledge to be dangerous, can do. These individual have been convinced by their egos that they have the answer.
They are the ones who unintentionally, (and sometimes intentionally) but detrimentally whisper in your ear at your weakest moment, "I know what's best for you..." and you unconditionally put your life in their 'capable' hands because you need
relief from the pressure you're under.
In the extreme, we've seen headlines where people have blindly followed the methods of 'spiritual leaders' who have put large groups in harms way. Individuals have lost their lives, because along with their troubles they also handed over their power to someone they believed knew better. If you hear yourself quoting the 'wisdom' of your personal 'guru' over and over again, you might want to ask yourself who you're allowing to mess with your energy.
Obey Your Own Wisdom
Our personal energy field is one with the Divine. It is the primary influence on our mental, physical, emotion and spiritual well-being. This vital field has the capacity to absorb or to protect us from the negative energies, which create ALL
forms of illness.
We live in a time where we are free to follow our own guidance, our own wisdom, and our own inner knowing. Most of us go out of our way to review the credentials of our physician. We would not consider allowing a surgeon to perform unnecessary procedures. When it comes right down to it, we don't even let someone cut our hair without checking them out first! As there are no regulations for Energetic healing, be it Feng Shui, Reiki, Cranial Sacral Therapy or any other energetic discipline it is essential we apply the same scrutiny to those we allow to manipulate our personal energy field!
Tips for Choosing an Energy Practitioner
1) A recommendation from someone you trust is imperative.
2) Discernment is key so do not trust the recommendation blindly. A practitioner that's right for one person may not be right for you because we're not all in sync!
3) Interview! Have a lengthy conversation first. Ask the hows and whys of what will happen during a session.
4) Our body doesn't lie. Pay attention to how your body 'feels' while you're talking to your prospective choice. If you have a pit in your stomach at any point in the conversation that wasn't present before you arrived, give it careful consideration.
5) Beware the individual who calls her/himself a 'healer'. An energy worker's job is to empower and assist your progress. We heal ourselves.
6) If the advice you're receiving goes against your better judgment, ask questions and trust your gut before applying it...
7) ...However, don't look for someone who's going to feed your own feelings back to you! There are lots of parrots posing as spiritual gurus.
8) Don't use several different practitioners at the same time! This is akin to taking prescriptions from a variety of physicians.
It's important to give yourself time to get comfortable with a practitioner. If you feel that you're not making progress discuss it! If it's still not working for you, it's OK to seek someone who feels more compatible.
It is very unfortunate that those often well-meaning individuals who fall into the 'unhealed healer' category are generally not aware that they are doing more harm than good. However with diligence and self-awareness it is possible to make the best choice by trusting our inner wisdom.
