We have a spectacular opportunity to capture the essence of the times by actively working with prevalent energies of the season to bring a much needed stability to our rapidly changing world environment. The energy offered us at Spring Equinox is renewal, re-birth and new growth.
As the planets turn in the heavens we feel the rising up of dormant energy and with it the stirrings of our own power. So organically are we tied to all the rhythms of our planet that it is impossible to deny this force of rising potential within us that pushes and pulls us forward, searching out our greatest purpose. Like every budding leaf and germinating seedling we reach for the light of the sun to feel the heat on our skin and our vital fluids start to course with renewed vitality. In spring we once again remember what it feels like to want to be the best we can be; the most attractive, the sexiest, the smartest, the bravest, the most successful. Whatever it is, we are renewed with the juice to take on the world! Our sap is running!
The Maiden Comes Calling
With our senses fully alive we remember that we have purpose and we may even understand that it is our birthright and duty to fulfill our purpose. But despite our hunger, our willingness and all our logical understanding we may not be able to actually identify what our purpose is. Your purpose has to emerge from within you and no one can help you with that. Purpose drives from within. We feel the surge of power like the swelling of a tide and intuitively know that something is longing to be expressed. Our endocrine system jumps into high gear, ready to face the demands of a body on the move. In spring we begin to search frantically for an adequate release for these feelings.
It's easy at this stage to become rambunctious, impatient and impetuous but I urge you to patiently anchor your feet to the ground and breathe deeply. Take the time to enjoy your inner spring. Come in touch with the budding sensations of growth, the newness, and the beginner mind aspect of creation. Looking at things through the fresh eyes of the beginner will let you witness where things got too heavy and mucky in the past. You'll be able to identify where you didn't have the right focus, tools, or information. Then you'll be able to redirect your energies into the proper channels for new growth.
Understand that the Maiden governs the flow of energy in springtime. She's fresh, bright-eyed and innocent and springs forward, skipping lightly, into new possibilities. Play and investigate, by listening to your body you will come into touch with your raw potential. Unformed ideas and unshaped energy will empower you with a need to create and develop something specifically YOU! This time is of bringing together of new energies, fertility, seedlings, fresh bursting forth energy is the mindset. Avoid clinging to old ideas and worn out ways of doing things. Allow yourself to be inspired by fresh thoughts, uninvestigated pathways and breaking free of old dogmas. The maiden energy is flirty, joyful and light hearted. Allow yourself to be teased into playfulness.
Listen to the yearnings, the quiet but pushy urges that call us to our best and most powerful expression. The energy of spring will surely entice you to try something new, perhaps even something out of character. Before you do
anything try to understand why. Try to determine the need for your diversion. As we emerge from winter it is important that we don't automatically slip into old patterns of being. So I urge you to follow your soul's lead just be wise about it. Feel the life force surging through your body, don't waste it in feverish covert dalliances with forbidden fruit; use it instead to create positive change in your life. Take this opportunity to feel alive, to experience life, to cut away the dead wood!
