ANDREA THIEL CONNELL: Happy New Year to you all! The energies presiding over this year are complex and will offer us many opportunities to experience the divine spirit of love as it flows through everyday life. In the awareness of these persistent energies we will also come to realize the changes that are needed to keep this flow stimulated. For some this is easy, for others however this constant state of change will be extremely difficult. Already people are feeling the shifting energy being presented. Remember it is your choice as to how to live with this constant flux.
The Power of 5
2012 is a “5” energy year [2 + 0 + 1 + 2 = 5] and as such foretells of the influence of winds of change blowing consistently throughout the year. 5 is a very special esoteric number; it is perhaps this number that best expresses the ideas of “as above – so below”. It describes the sacred relationship between all things of matter and of spirit. It represents a meeting ground of principles and numbers, sacred geometry and ethics. In the energy of 5 we are asked to consider the relevance of all things in one common unified expression. Under the influence of the 5 be aware that we are being provided with a surplus of energy that is available to be used in any way we see fit. It is up to each of us individually to either support old habits and belief systems or to capitalize on this energy to fuel new thoughts, desires and dreams.
The number 5 portends the potential of growth toward perfection and balance in a Divine expression. As we stretch into our new potential this year we are reminded to also be releasing old stagnant ways of being. This year try to be very critical of yourself, ruthlessly expel all that no longer suits you nor supports your new growth. Of course in order to clean our inner house we have to first know what lurks therein and what serves us. Come to know how you truly feel and believe, as well as what you need and put faith in. Learn to temper all new inspiration with compassion and love. Only through these filters will you appreciate all that is truly sacred to you and must be preserved for your highest good and well-being.
A Sacred Guide
There are many interesting opportunities available to the metaphysical student this year. In the tarot the major arcana ‘V’ card is governed by the Hierophant. The Hierophant is the holy man that teaches us of all things sacred and guides us gently toward them. He may be an external figure or the very personal higher self. In either case he directs us to the truth of our soul and urges us toward intimate understandings of our inner heart and mind, encouraging dynamic synergy at all times. He asks us to delve into our mysteries and come to ‘know’ what is hidden within. The Hierophant requires us to be authentic and brave; brave enough to stand by and protect our soul’s purpose as it grows within until it is strong enough to be revealed and expressed for the highest good of all humanity.
In this long anticipated year of turbulent change, remind yourself to remain calm and centred. Train yourself to be patient, speak and think kindly toward self and others and exercise authenticity and wisdom in reflection of your own heart-felt awareness. Be mindful of working consciously, synchronized with divine energy. By allowing all of your interactions to be tempered with love this year and you will experience a year of sacred proportions.
For those who are convinced that we are facing difficult and challenging times this year be reminded that the only true power we have is to create the life we desire from the inside out in the present moment. Use each moment to live in a heart centred way with love as the grounded guide in all your interactions. Depending on how well we determine to live with love embedded in our core will determine the quality of the life we express and enjoy throughout 2012.
