But do we look after our spiritual needs with such care and attention? It is a good idea to just stop and evaluate where we are, where we have come from and chart a new direction if necessary. After all, we want to stay on course and not let 'life' distract us from our path and purpose.
As easy as it may be to point fingers and direct blame onto others for our misfortunes and lack of spiritual growth, we need to realize that we are the ones who stand accountable for our actions or lack of it.
Only we know our inner most thoughts and desires. Do you want to manifest something in your life? It all begins with a thought and that thought will become the reality. Taking time each day to put those positive thoughts into action is vital for Spiritual Growth to occur.
Spiritual growth comes through various methods. Meditation for example can be done for short spans through out the day: walking, sitting or lying down. The books we choose, the TV shows or movies we watch, the sites we visit online and what we take part in everyday, affects our Spiritual growth.
Go through the list below and remember to answer the questions honestly. There is no pass or fail. This is just a means of showing yourself areas you may need to address in order to continue to grow. Bringing the mind, body and Spirit together will produce many benefits in all areas of your life. [i In the last month, have I taken time to pray/meditate everyday?Have I remembered to give Gratitude everyday for all my life’s blessing?
Am I able to be less judgmental towards those around me and most of all with myself?
In order to receive love, have I remembered to be more open to receive love? Have I shown love to others without expecting anything in return?
Have I taken time to just 'be'? To be out in nature and truly listen, see, smell all there is around me.
Have I followed my intuition more? Asking for insight and knowledge then believing I have received the answer.
Have I read any poems, books, articles that are inspirational and motivate me to think in a more positive manner?
Have I taken time for me? Just to relax completely so my mind, body and spirit can reconnect?]
Have I allowed myself to become more spiritual in all I do, letting go of 'I, Me and Mine'? Spiritual To Do List
Starting right now commit to the following: 1. As soon as I arise in the morning I will give thanks for a new day and remember all my many blessing. 2. I will take time for meditation if only for 10 minutes in order to bring balance into my day. 3. I will read or listen to a motivational or spiritual growth article, book, poem or CD in order to cause me to think about Spiritual Growth and to help in providing insight. 4. I will take time in nature – not just on the way to the car to do my errands but to sit or walk and just 'be' in the moment. 5. I will close my eyes and truly listen to the sounds around me. Breathe deeply allowing the fresh air to cleanse my entire body. 6. I will practice energy work on others and myself and do so from my heart not my head; following my intuition and not just a book of instructions. 7. I realize the power of distant healing for others and the world. My positive intent on healing will contribute the healing of the earth and universe as well. 8. I decide to do something new each day, if only smiling at a stranger in the supermarket, driving a different way to work anything new. 9. At the end of each day I will once again give thanks for all the blessings of the day. I will make a list of all the new things I did and all the positive things that happened in my day; remembering every smile, every vision of loveliness, every sweet smell of the flowers, sounds of the birds. 10. I will remember that every day is a new beginning. I will face each knowing that I have only this moment to live, all my past is gone and I have no control over the future. Therefore I will choose to live with positive attitude, happiness and love. In this way I know that I will be open to receive love, happiness and joy into my life and be able to pass this to others.
Not so hard is it?
Keep at it and these things will soon become part of your daily routine and part of who you are. These are the first steps in becoming love and with that come Spiritual freedom and growth.
Namaste
