The thoughts you are having right at this moment are actually sending signals out to the universe to bring about a reality for you. When these opportunities present themselves, it is then up to you on how you accept or reject them. By not judging a situation as being a good or bad experience, look to see what other events occur as a result of your choice and how these events help you to grow in mind, body and spirit. To help you to understand this let me give you an example from my own life's story.
For years I knew I should be doing something spiritual but couldn't quite put my finger on it. I would pray, teach Sunday school, sing in the choir, work on boards and volunteer, but none of these filled the gap I was feeling deep inside. I had an inner knowing that I would need to step outside of the conventional box of religious institutions to find the answers I was looking for and allow my mind to be more open to other beliefs and ways of thinking. I chose to ignore this 'knowing' often as it meant a big change for me and I didn't feel this could possibly be what I was to do. I live in a small community where everyone goes to church and no one talks about what they really believe to be true to them spiritually. Just finding someone to talk to was difficult, so I turned more inward, prayed more fervently and started to listen more to the answers.
Once I made the choice to do this, I soon discovered whenever I was pondering something, I encountered someone or an opportunity to explore this question further. My eyes began to open, my heart was less judgmental and I soon realized that nothing is by chance but rather Divine sychronicities are always at work.
One night as I completed a meditation, I declared out loud I was ready to accept whatever my purpose was without question but with complete and utter faith all would be well. What a difference this made! Now my mind and heart were working together to allow my spiritual path to be revealed. I thought I had been open to this before but now understood that what I once thought were obstacles were really opportunities for learning. Without these experiences I would not be able to move ahead.
My physical illness forced me into making a career change that would lead me to meeting new people, listening to others without judgment, and allowing me to be outside of my community comfort zone, to see there is a big world out there. It was here that I met my now best friend who talked about Reiki, intuition and Spirit. Many lunch hours were spent going back and forth with our ideas, beliefs and questions. It wasn't the job that needed, but that job led me to meeting a person I needed at that point in my life. Synchronicity was at play with her as well. She had just moved back to Ontario from British Columbia and 'happened' to get a job the same place I worked. As soon as we met, we knew we were meant to spiritually support one another.
I went on to become a Reiki Master, teach meditation classes and Personal Growth workshops. Now I realize my inner knowing which said that I should be a teacher was not in the conventional schools but in teaching mind, body and spirit understanding to others.
Through these groups I have met some amazing people, all on their own journeys who have come to me not by chance but for a very specific reason. We learn from each other. Sometimes they come to find answers to find their life purpose while others I know have been sent to assist me in my growth. It is interesting to hear how and why they come together.
One woman just happened to be out taking photos of her old homestead and went in to the farmhouse to ask the owner's permission to take a picture of the barn. These two ladies got to talking and it happened that the owner of the farm was coming to my meditation group and suggested this other woman come along. She wasn't even thinking of doing anything like this but allowed herself to be guided and came. She has been a loyal participant and friend for over four years. Was it just chance that these two met? I don't think so.
Another client was looking for a way to get to the bottom of some issues from his childhood but had no idea how he was going to do it. With this thought in mind he opened the phone book and there was my ad. Without thinking on it too long, he too just followed his gut instinct, called and booked his appointments.
I have had clients who have attended workshops then brought their friends and family to meditation class. Through this we now have a very strong group and I know we are meant to be together. Many of them have gone on to become Reiki Masters themselves. How wonderful is that? More healers and teachers for a time that needs them.
Take a few moments and sit quietly. Close your eyes and think back over you life, without judgment or emotion and see how your choices have gotten you to where you are now. Think of your life as a large jigsaw puzzle. See how all the pieces have come together. Attempt to do so positively so that you can see where you chose to come out of a situation stronger, in control or learned where you should set limits. If you didn't, then perhaps now is the time to see where you wish to move your life.
What is the next piece of the puzzle you want to make 'fit' into your journey. What you may have considered a bad relationship may have taught you to think more highly of yourself, to be independent and in control of your life where you would not have learned that otherwise. Working at a job you didn't like may have introduced you to people that became friends or made you look at what was valuable to you, or appreciate time and your health that you wouldn't have done otherwise. Loosing a job offered you the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and take note of what you really want to do in your life. An illness can often give us inner strength as we face what is important to us, appreciate how our thoughts create our reality and how we look after ourselves. When you can do the above, you will find you are always seeing the connection between what you do, who you meet and the path to get to where you need to be.
By having faith that the Universe will provide you with all these connections when you are ready for them. You will find yourself asking, "I wonder where is this going to take me?" only now you move forward without fear but rather with trust that all will be taken care of and all is for a reason. Open your mind and see if you don't encounter the following more often. When you ask from the heart and are willing to receive you may notice:
You will find yourself noting the little things that before you may have overlooked.
Events around you will for some reason stay on your mind.
A feeling won't go away, then something happens and you understand why.
You will notice a particular person being everywhere you are.
A message in a paper will keep drawing your attention.
A desire to go to a particular place keeps entering your mind.
Several people suggest the same thing to you such as read a book, see a movie, join a group, change your job.
Be aware of your thoughts as they do
create your reality. Ask a question then watch for the answers to present themselves, remembering they often do not appear in a direct way.
Life is full of sychronicities, you just need to open your eyes to see, your ears to hear and your heart to feel them.
